Add Inventory — Location Step User Guide
This guide walks through the Location step of the Add Inventory wizard in the Moving Walls Planner — naming the site, pinpointing its GPS position on the map, and reviewing the auto-detected address, postal code, and timezone before moving on to Operations.
Overview
Field | Purpose |
Inventory Name * | A descriptive, unique name for the site (e.g. venue or landmark). |
Site Description | Optional extra detail about the site, such as a nearby landmark. |
Latitude / Longitude * | GPS coordinates — set by clicking the map or typing values directly. |
Map (click / drag marker) | Visually pinpoint the location; dragging the marker updates the coordinates automatically. |
Address | Auto-detected from the marker's coordinates. |
Postal Code | Auto-detected from the marker's coordinates. |
Timezone * | Auto-detected, but editable via a searchable dropdown. |
Part 1: Naming and Describing the Site
1. From the left-hand menu, go to Inventory and start (or continue) Add Inventory. The wizard has six steps — Classification, Location, Operations, Pricing & Terms, Media, Panel. On the Location step, a blue banner explains that this is a fixed location and its GPS position can be set via the map or entered manually; a Location Tips panel on the right gives further guidance.

2. Enter a descriptive, unique Inventory Name, such as “Test site.”

3. Optionally, add a Site Description with extra landmark or context detail.

Part 2: Setting the GPS Position
4. Click anywhere on the map to drop a marker, or drag an existing marker to fine-tune its position. The Latitude and Longitude fields update automatically to match.

5. Alternatively, type the coordinates directly into the Latitude and Longitude fields — the marker on the map and the address below it update automatically to match.
Coordinates entered manually — marker and address follow
6. You can also use the Search for a location box on the map to jump straight to a place by name instead of placing the marker by hand.
Part 3: Reviewing Address Details and Continuing
7. Once a marker is placed, the Address, Postal Code, and Timezone fields below the map are auto-detected. Timezone is a searchable dropdown, so you can adjust it manually if the auto-detected value isn't right.

8. Click Continue to save the Location step and move on to Operations.
Continue button — saves Location and advances the wizard
9. The six-step header now shows Classification and Location with green checkmarks, and Operations becomes the active step — covering operating hours and traffic.
